Terms of Service

Last Updated: June 24th, 2026
This service is not sponsored, affiliated, or endorsed by Riot Games. We have never claimed to be Riot affiliated or Riot sponsored. If there are any concerns regarding legality, please contact Kai at contact@mentr.gg.
By accessing or using any product or service offered by mentr (collectively, “the Services”), including by making a payment for any Service, you acknowledge and agree to abide by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and mentr, currently operated as a sole proprietorship by Tokio Kobayashi (known online as “Kai Watanabe”) in the state of Massachusetts (“mentr,” “Company,” “we,” “our,” “us”). Throughout these Terms, any reference to “Kai” refers to Tokio Kobayashi. In the event that mentr is incorporated as a formal legal entity, these Terms will be updated accordingly and continued use of the Services will constitute acceptance of the revised Terms.
The Services include the set-aligned mentorship programs offered under the “[Title] with mentr” name (currently Teamfight Tactics with mentr), one-on-one coaching, mentr+ subscriptions and workshops, tournaments and events (such as the End-of-Set Tournament), and PROJECT PBE. Each Service is described in its own section below. Sections 1 through 4 and Sections 9 through 15 are general terms that apply to all Services. Sections 5 through 8 set out terms specific to individual Services. Where a Service-specific section conflicts with the general terms, the Service-specific section controls for that Service.
Within the mentorship program sections, the words “Mentee” and “Apprentice” are used interchangeably and refer to the same role, the enrolled student participating in the program.
Section 1

Acceptance of Terms

1.1 Implied Consent

By accessing or using any Service, submitting an application or registration, or making a payment, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and mentr (“Company,” “we,” “our,” “us”).

Section 2

The Services

2.1 Overview

mentr offers the following Services, each governed by these Terms and by the Service-specific section noted:

  • Mentorship programs offered under the “[Title] with mentr” name, set-aligned to each competitive season. The current offering is Teamfight Tactics with mentr (Section 5).
  • One-on-one coaching, booked per session or as a multi-session bundle (Section 7).
  • mentr+ subscriptions, providing access to workshops and subscriber benefits on a recurring basis (Section 6).
  • Tournaments and events, including the paid End-of-Set Tournament and the free-to-enter PROJECT PBE (Section 8).
  • The mentr Library, a collection of educational content (Section 10).

Additional titles and Services may be offered in the future and will be governed by these Terms and their own Service-specific sections. Riftbound with mentr is not currently offered; its terms will be added when it launches.

Section 3

Eligibility

3.1 General Eligibility

To use any paid Service, you must be at least 18 years of age, or have a parent or legal guardian who has agreed to these Terms and accepts responsibility on your behalf. By using the Services or submitting any application or registration, you represent that you meet this requirement. mentr is not responsible for any misrepresentations made regarding age or identity, and acceptance of an application or registration does not constitute verification of age. Individual Services may impose additional eligibility requirements, which are set out in their respective sections.

Section 4

Payment, Billing, and Chargebacks

4.1 Pricing

Fees for all paid Services are the amounts disclosed at the point of checkout, enrollment, or registration at the time of purchase. Prices vary by Service, by participant category, and by season, and may change over time. The price shown to you at the time of purchase is the price that applies to that purchase.

4.2 Payment Processing

Payments are processed through third-party payment processors. By making a payment or saving a payment method, you authorize mentr and its payment processor to charge the applicable amount in accordance with the relevant Service-specific section. mentr does not store full card details; these are held by the payment processor.

4.3 Refunds

Refund terms differ by Service and are set out in each Service’s own section: mentorship programs in Section 5, mentr+ subscriptions in Section 6, one-on-one coaching in Section 7, and tournaments and events in Section 8. Except as expressly stated in those sections, payments are non-refundable.

4.4 Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute does not supersede these Terms. In the event of a chargeback, mentr reserves the right to suspend or cancel the relevant Service and access for the affected user, and will cooperate fully with the payment provider’s dispute resolution process. We encourage you to contact us directly at contact@mentr.gg before initiating a dispute, as most concerns can be resolved without involving a payment provider.

Section 5

Mentorship Programs (“[Title] with mentr”)

mentr offers set-aligned mentorship programs under the “[Title] with mentr” name. The current offering is Teamfight Tactics with mentr (referred to in this section as “the Program”). The terms in this section apply to these mentorship programs.

5.1 Program Overview

Teamfight Tactics with mentr provides a structured coaching program for Teamfight Tactics (TFT) players over the course of 10 weeks, set-aligned with each competitive TFT set. The Program begins on August 12th for Set 18. Enrollment is highly selective, as acceptance depends on finding a strong mentor-Mentee match based on playstyle, goals, and availability. The Program provides mentorship and coaching services in Teamfight Tactics, including:

  • Direct communication with a dedicated mentor
  • Two individual coaching sessions per week, each lasting a minimum of one hour
  • Complimentary access to mentr+ workshops for the duration of the program (see Section 6), with no recurring subscription fee
  • Individualized progress reports graded at the start and end of each set
  • A guaranteed spot, if desired, in the End-of-Set Tournament (see Section 8), which carries a prize pool and is also open to players outside the program
5.2 Applicant Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements to be eligible for Teamfight Tactics with mentr:

  • Have achieved a career peak rank of Masters or above in TFT
  • Submit a complete application before the deadline
  • Be selected following the interview process, during which Mentees rank their top three preferred mentors and mentors indicate their preferred placements. Final pairing decisions are made by the program director based on mutual fit, playstyle, and availability.

Teamfight Tactics with mentr reserves the right to accept, deny, or waitlist applicants based on program fit, mentor availability, and eligibility criteria.

5.3 Mentor Qualifications

All mentors in the Program are required to meet at least one of the following qualifications:

  • Have achieved a top 5 rank on the ladder in their region at any point during a set
  • Currently participate in, or have recently participated in, the TFT Pro Circuit (TPC)
  • Have competed at the TFT World Championship

These standards exist to ensure every Mentee receives coaching from a verified high-level competitor. Mentor eligibility is reviewed by Kai prior to each set.

5.4 Payment Terms

The program cost is the fee disclosed at checkout for your cohort at the time of enrollment, payable upfront through the official website (mentr.gg) upon acceptance.

  • Following acceptance after the interview, Mentees have up to one week to complete payment, and in all cases must complete payment no later than the last weekend before the program start date. Mentees who do not pay by that deadline may lose their spot unless they have consulted with Kai directly via Discord (@kai_).
  • A waitlist process does not exist unless Kai explicitly grants permission for late payment via Discord DMs.
  • Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute does not supersede these Terms of Service. In the event of a chargeback, Teamfight Tactics with mentr reserves the right to cancel the Mentee’s enrollment and will cooperate fully with the payment provider’s dispute resolution process. We encourage Mentees to contact us directly at contact@mentr.gg before initiating a dispute, as most concerns can be resolved without involving a payment provider.
5.5 Refund Policy

Refunds for the Program are issued according to the schedule below. The program week is measured from the program start date (August 12th, 2026 for Set 18). Except where stated otherwise, refunds are issued minus any non-refundable payment processing fees incurred on the original transaction, and reach your bank or card statement within 5 to 7 business days.

  • Before the program begins, or during week 1 (the first week following the program start date): full refund, minus payment processing fees.
  • Weeks 2 through 4: 50 percent refund.
  • Week 5 and later: no refund. The Mentee is removed from the cohort, but no money is returned.

If Teamfight Tactics with mentr cancels the program before it begins, a full refund will be issued. For Set 18, the program officially begins on August 12th, 2026. Future set start dates will be communicated in advance.

The following situations do not qualify for a refund outside the schedule above:

  • Mentee dissatisfaction with mentorship or coaching
  • Mentee’s inability to participate due to personal reasons
  • Lack of improvement or success in TFT
  • Changes in personal schedule, game balance, or competitive format

Refunds may be granted under extreme circumstances, such as medical leave or forced military enlistment that was unknown to the Mentee before enrolling. This is handled on a case-by-case basis and must be discussed directly with Kai via Discord DMs.

Where a refund is owed because Teamfight Tactics with mentr is at fault, including an unavailable mentor with no suitable replacement (Section 5.6) or the program leadership circumstances in Section 5.8, the refund is calculated as the number of weeks remaining in the program divided by ten, multiplied by the amount paid, with no processing-fee deduction.

5.6 Program Participation

The following outlines the participation expectations of all Mentees enrolled in the Program:

  • Mentees work with their mentor to schedule coaching sessions based on both parties’ availability. Rescheduling is permitted, but both the Mentee and mentor must mutually agree on an alternate time. Rescheduling requests should be made at least 24 hours in advance, except in cases of emergency.
  • Each Mentee is entitled to two individual coaching sessions per week, each lasting a minimum of one hour.
  • Mentees receive complimentary access to mentr+ workshops for the duration of the program at no additional charge and are not billed the recurring mentr+ subscription fee while enrolled. Workshops are recorded and released publicly; recording and public sharing are addressed in Section 10.
  • Mentor pairings are not guaranteed and cannot be appealed.
  • Mentors are required to send a Discord ping to both the program director and the Mentee in the designated accountability channel at the start of each session. This is a mandatory requirement for mentors from Set 17 onward.
  • Individualized progress reports are prepared and distributed by Kai at the beginning and end of each set in PDF format. These reports are based on mentor evaluations and are delivered directly to each Mentee. Failure to complete the grading rubric by the mentor may result in a delay but does not nullify the Mentee’s entitlement to a report.
  • If a mentor becomes unavailable, Teamfight Tactics with mentr does not guarantee a replacement.
    • If the designated mentor becomes unavailable for an extended period, Teamfight Tactics with mentr will make reasonable efforts to assign a new mentor or reschedule sessions. However, a replacement is not guaranteed, and the final decision will be made by Kai.
    • If a satisfactory replacement cannot be found, a prorated refund will be calculated as the number of weeks remaining in the program divided by ten, multiplied by the amount paid, with no processing-fee deduction. The longer the Mentee has been in the Program, the smaller the refund.
    • The final decision regarding refunds, including amount and eligibility, will be made by the program director in good faith. Mentees may request a written explanation within 7 business days of being notified.
  • If a mentor voluntarily withdraws from the Program before the set concludes, the following applies:
    • The mentor forfeits any remaining unpaid compensation for sessions not yet completed at the time of withdrawal.
    • The Mentee will receive a prorated refund calculated as the number of weeks remaining in the program divided by ten, multiplied by the amount paid, with no processing-fee deduction.
    • Teamfight Tactics with mentr will make reasonable efforts to find a replacement mentor. If no suitable replacement is found, the full prorated refund will be issued.
    • The final determination of refund amounts and replacement decisions will be made by the program director in good faith. Mentees may request a written explanation within 7 business days.
  • If a Mentee misses two consecutive sessions and is unreachable within 48 hours, the mentor will contribute three hours of replacement work per week for the remainder of the set: 1.5 hours of office hours and 1.5 hours of content creation. No additional compensation is provided to the mentor for this replacement work.
  • Mentees may not transfer or assign their enrollment in the Program to another person.
5.7 Mentor Conduct and Evidence

Mentors are expected to conduct themselves professionally within the Teamfight Tactics with mentr community. If a Mentee believes their mentor is acting in a manner that is rude, uncooperative, unresponsive, or unprofessional, they should notify Kai immediately.

Evidence will only be considered valid if:

  • It comes from messages in the designated text channels assigned to each mentor/Mentee pairing.
  • It consists of video evidence from coaching sessions or workshops.
  • In extreme cases involving clear and overwhelming misconduct (e.g., repeated harassment, hate speech, or direct personal attacks), direct messages may be considered. However, minor disputes or isolated incidents within DMs will not be treated as valid evidence.

Mentors are not required to record individual sessions. Mentees are strongly encouraged to record their sessions in case evidence is needed. Any reported issues will be reviewed by Kai, and appropriate action will be taken by the program director in good faith, taking into account all available evidence and circumstances.

5.8 Program Leadership Continuity

In the event that Kai becomes immediately and unexpectedly incapable of directing the Program, the following will occur:

  • A designated third party appointed by mentr will assume temporary responsibility for financial oversight and program administration.
  • All enrolled Mentees will be notified as soon as reasonably possible.
  • Prorated refunds will be issued to all active Mentees, calculated as the number of weeks remaining in the program divided by ten, multiplied by the amount paid, with no processing-fee deduction.
  • All mentors will be paid out for sessions completed up to the point of program cancellation at the rates set by Teamfight Tactics with mentr.
  • All future sessions will be canceled immediately.
5.9 Future Mentorship Titles

mentr may offer mentorship programs for additional titles under the “[Title] with mentr” name. Riftbound with mentr is not currently offered. When a new title’s program launches, its specific eligibility, pricing, and participation terms will be added to this section, and enrollment will constitute acceptance of those terms.

Section 6

Subscriptions and Workshops (mentr+)

6.1 Overview

mentr+ is an optional recurring subscription that provides access to workshops, subscriber-only channels, and related benefits. Subscription tiers and their prices are as disclosed at checkout. Benefits depend on the tier selected and may change over time.

Active apprentices enrolled in a mentr mentorship program receive access to mentr+ workshops as part of their program at no additional charge and are not billed the subscription fee while enrolled (see Section 5).

6.2 Billing and Automatic Renewal

mentr+ subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price for your tier, until cancelled. By subscribing, you authorize mentr and its payment processor to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. If you change tiers, billing resets to the date of the change, and no proration or credit is provided for unused time on your previous tier.

6.3 Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time. After cancellation, your access and any associated subscriber roles or benefits continue through the end of the current paid billing period, and then end. Subscription fees are non-refundable, including for partial billing periods.

Section 7

One-on-One Coaching

7.1 Overview

mentr offers standalone one-on-one coaching sessions with mentors, booked individually or as a multi-session bundle. Prices are as disclosed at checkout and may vary by mentor. Coaching sessions are scheduled between you and the mentor based on availability. Sessions may be recorded; recording is addressed in Section 10.

7.2 Cancellation and Refunds

Cancellation of a one-on-one coaching session is subject to the following:

  • If you cancel 24 hours or more before the scheduled session, you receive a full refund, minus any non-refundable payment processing fees.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the scheduled session, you receive a 50 percent refund.
  • If a session has already been rescheduled, no refund is issued for a subsequent cancellation of that session.
  • If the mentor cancels the session, you receive a full refund.
  • Refunds are returned to your original payment method and typically appear within 5 to 7 business days.
7.3 Rescheduling

Each session may be rescheduled once. A reschedule must be made at least 24 hours before the session, and the new time must be agreed with the mentor. After a session has been rescheduled once, any further change is treated as a cancellation under Section 7.2.

7.4 Bundles

Multi-session bundles are offered at a discount and are specific to a single mentor. Individual sessions within a bundle may be cancelled under the same policy in Section 7.2, with the refund calculated based on the bundle’s effective per-session price.

Section 8

Tournaments and Events

8.1 End-of-Set Tournament

mentr runs paid tournaments, including the End-of-Set Tournament. The following terms govern entry and payment:

  • Entry requires registration. The entry fee is as disclosed at checkout and may vary by participant category.
  • Active apprentices enrolled in a mentr mentorship program are guaranteed a spot in the End-of-Set Tournament if they choose to participate.
  • At registration, your payment method is saved but not charged. Final participants are selected by mentr. Only selected participants are charged the entry fee. Applicants who are not selected, or who are ineligible, are never charged.
  • By registering, you authorize mentr and its payment processor to charge the entry fee to your saved payment method if you are selected to participate.
  • Once charged, entry fees are non-refundable, except where mentr cancels the event, in which case charged entry fees are refunded.

The competition format, schedule, prize pool and distribution, eligibility, and selection criteria are described in the then-current Tournament Rulebook available on the tournament page. The Rulebook is informational and may be updated from time to time. In the event of a conflict, the payment, eligibility, and conduct terms in these Terms are binding.

8.2 PROJECT PBE

PROJECT PBE is a free-to-enter competitive ladder and tournament series. No entry fee is charged. Participation is governed by these Terms and by the PROJECT PBE rulebook available on its page.

Participation in PROJECT PBE is a privilege, not a right. mentr reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to deny entry to, suspend, or remove any participant, whether before or during the event, where mentr reasonably believes that the participant’s past or present conduct, online or in person and whether or not it occurred during a PROJECT PBE event, would make them a disruptive or detrimental presence or pose a risk to the safety, integrity, or reputation of the event, its participants, or the community. Such a decision is final.

8.3 Future Events

Additional tournaments or events that mentr offers from time to time are governed by this section, together with each event’s published rulebook and any terms disclosed at registration. Where an event charges an entry fee, the payment, selection, and refund approach described in Section 8.1 applies unless the event’s own published terms state otherwise.

Section 9

Code of Conduct

9.1 User Conduct

All users of the Services are expected to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully within the mentr community. Any harassment, inappropriate behavior, hate speech, doxxing, cheating, or toxic in-game behavior may result in immediate removal from the relevant Service and the mentr community without a refund.

  • Warnings may be issued by mentr in good faith, taking into account all available evidence and circumstances.
  • Immediate removal is possible based on the severity of the offense.
  • You may appeal a removal by speaking directly with Kai, but the final decision rests with mentr. You may request a written explanation of any decision within 7 business days of being notified.

Additional conduct expectations and evidence standards specific to the mentorship program are set out in Section 5.

Section 10

10.1 Ownership of Materials
  • mentr retains ownership of all Service materials, including coaching methodologies, progress reports, tournament structures, workshop content, and proprietary strategies.
  • You may share what you have learned.
  • You may not claim structured materials such as workshop recordings, progress reports, or other proprietary content as your own work.
10.2 Recordings

By participating in coaching sessions or workshops, you expressly consent to being recorded. These recordings may be used for internal review, analysis, or educational purposes, and may be shared publicly unless you submit a written request to Kai specifying your desire to be excluded.

  • Any recordings shared publicly will not disclose personally identifiable information beyond what you have already made public. Recordings used for educational purposes will be handled in accordance with the privacy policy in Section 14. Names, handles, or in-game identifiers may appear in shared recordings but will not be accompanied by personal contact information, financial details, or other sensitive data.
  • To be enforceable, the written request must include proof that Kai has acknowledged and responded to it. Kai is required to respond to such requests within 7 business days of receipt. Once acknowledged, relevant media will be removed from public sharing and Kai must ensure compliance.
  • Failure to submit an acknowledged request may result in media being used or shared publicly as part of mentr’s content.
10.3 The Library and Third-Party Content

The mentr Library is a collection of educational content. It includes original articles and guides written by mentr’s mentors, and may reference or display game-related assets and other third-party material. mentr respects the intellectual property rights of others.

The Library does not carry advertising, except on original articles written by mentr’s own mentors, which may display advertising. No other part of the Library is monetized, and the portions of the Library that reference or display third-party content are not ad-supported.

Section 11

Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

11.1 No Guarantee of Results

mentr does not guarantee specific results, rankings, or earnings as a result of using the Services. The Services are designed to provide mentorship, coaching, and related content, but individual improvement depends on your effort, skill, and commitment.

mentr shall not be held liable for any losses, including but not limited to:

  • Financial losses
  • Missed competitive opportunities
  • Emotional distress or dissatisfaction with coaching outcomes
11.2 Force Majeure and Refund Requests Under Extreme Conditions

In the event of a force majeure situation (e.g., natural disasters, government actions, pandemics), mentr may extend the duration of an affected Service to make up for lost time. If a mentorship program is delayed for more than 14 days, Mentees may request a refund, subject to Kai’s discretion.

11.3 Third-Party Services

mentr is not responsible for any issues related to third-party services used in conjunction with the Services, such as Discord, payment processors, or external coaching tools. Any issues with these services should be directed to the relevant third-party provider.

Section 12

Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

12.1 Section Overview

Any disputes arising under these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good faith negotiation between the parties. If a resolution cannot be reached within 30 days, the dispute shall be submitted to binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than resolved in court. The arbitration shall take place in Massachusetts, and Massachusetts law shall govern. Each party shall bear their own costs unless the arbitrator determines otherwise. Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking emergency injunctive relief from a court of competent jurisdiction.

12.2 Failure or Delay in Performance

mentr shall not be held liable for failure or delay in performance due to causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Natural disasters
  • Government actions
